Sun Damage to the eye

Is it necessary to wear sunglasses in the summer? What should I look for?
Sun damage can cause changes to the eye in many ways. From changes to skins around the eyes, to increased yellowing on the conjunctiva to causing Pterygium, Pinguecula, corneal changes, cataract, and macular degeneration. Learn more about sun burn on the eye.

Select the sunglasses with 100 percent UVA and UVB protection when you make the purchase. Get better driving comfort, and less glare with polarized sunglasses. If you need them to be made into prescription sunglasses, ask your Optometrist
